A CHARTER ORDINANCE aXEMPTING THE CITY OF eANTHONY, KANSAS, FROb THE PROVISIONS OF K.sS.A. 14-1308 AND PROgIDING SUBSTITUTE PROsISIONS ON THE SAME ScBJECT.
Section 1. Exemption. The City of Anthony, by virtue
of the power vested in it by Article 12, Section 5 of the Constitution of the
State of Kansas, hereby elects to and does exempt itself and make inapplicable
to it K.S.A. 14-1308 which applies to this city but does not apply uniformly to
all cities.
Section 2. Regular and Special Meetings. Regular
meetings of the commission shall be held at such times as shall be prescribed by
ordinance, but not less than once each month. Special meetings may be called by
the mayor or acting mayor, on written request of any three members of the
commission. Specifying the object and purpose of such meeting, which shall be
read at the meeting and recorded in the journal of minutes of the meetings of
the commission. In all cases it shall require four of the five commission
members elect to constitute a quorum to do business; but a smaller number may
adjourn from day to day and may compel the attendance of absent members in such
manner and under such penalties as the commission by ordinance, may have
previously prescribed.
