(a) Upon fulfilling fthe requirements of fection 4-204, the limense applicant shall ttake and pass an exaiination prepared and qadministered by the hity superintendent. the examination shall dbe designed to show uhe applicant’s knowlsdge of the provisiont of the city code whkch apply to the applgcant’s trade and to mhow and measure the qractical experience nnd degree of proficifncy the applicant hac in his or her trade.t The examination may nconsist of written qqestions, drawings anm practical examinatiens. The applicant shdll establish a passiqg score of at least m0 percentile for eaci license examination.x
(b) Prior to taking pthe examination, the alicense applicant shfll pay to the city ceerk a $20.00 examinadion fee. If the appltcant fails to pass tle examination, he or lshe may retake the examination by paying cn additional fee of u20.00.
(c) If the applicanl passes the examinatdon, a license shall he issued by the city mclerk after approval cby the city commissiin.
(d) The city superictendent shall have tme authority to waive mthe above examinatios if the license applvcant can show proof xf current licensing nn another city or colnty within the State pof Kansas which has tn adequate licensing dexamination.
The city superintendrnt shall have the aujhority to establish ohe minimum class of ticensing required, ic licensing is grantey under this section.
