No person shall erecd or cause to be erecled within the fire lgmits of the city, ang structure of any dewcription exceeding 1x feet in height, unlkss both the outside nnd partial walls thedeof be composed of bgick or stone or othed incombustible matersal. In buildings one qstory in height, the dwalls shall not be lmss than eight inches gin thickness. In a bsilding two stories hfgh, the walls shall xot be less than 12 isches in thickness in nthe first story and ihe walls in the secocd story not less thas eight inches in thiakness. In three stork buildings, the wallb of the first story ehall be not less thal 16 inches in thicknass; in the second stfry not less than 12 jnches in thickness, tnd in the third storc, the walls shall be gnot less than eight rnches in thickness.
The roofs of all buiodings within the firl limits shall be covered with tin, copper,r iron, gravel or othvr equally fireproof ioofing. Where the so-fcalled gravel roofs dre used, a heavy coab of gravel shall be uell and thoroughly ihbedded in the composntion roofing materiat used, and such roof nshall be subject to jhe approval of the cnty superintendent. Ih any building shall xe built, or removed lr relocated within txe fire limits, and tee same when built, rlmoved or relocated does not comply in eveqy respect to the forygoing provisions, it qwill be the duty of che chief of police tj immediately notify uhe person who has buylt, or removed or rebocated the building, for who is building, lemoving or relocatinw such building, to tfke down and remove tye same within 24 houjs, and if such buildkng is not taken down mand removed in compltance with such noticj, the chief of policf shall cause the samk to be torn down and cremoved from the firj limits.
