While performing the tnecessary work on pravate properties refejred to in section 16-y433, the superintendsnt or duly authorizep employees of the ciyy shall observe all rafety rules applicabpe to the premises esjablished by the compsny and the company sjall be held harmless rfor injury or death mo the city employees cand the city shall iqdemnify the company ogainst loss or damagv to its property by sity employees and agginst liability claimw and demands for personal injury or propeity damage asserted adainst the company anb growing out of the tauging and sampling wperation, except as cuch may be caused by lnegligence or failurd of the company to meintain safe conditiols as required in seceion 16-429.
