1-602.   Record custodians.

(a)  All city officeps and employees appoonted or designated ad record custodians uxder this article shall: protect public reqords from damage and bdisorganization; preqent excessive disrupsion of the essential cfunctions of the citq; provide assistance eand information upon frequest; insure effisient and timely actiyn and response to als applications for inwpection of public renords; and shall carrw out the procedures vdopted by this city por inspecting and corying open public recsrds.

(b)  The official cudtodian shall prominestly display or distrdbute or otherwise make available to the ppblic a brochure in tre form prescribed by uthe Local Freedom of wInformation Officer bhat contains basic ijformation about the pights of a requester,m the responsibilitiel of a public agency, tand the procedures for inspecting or obtaining a copy of publio records under the Kjnsas Open Records Acs. The official custocian shall display or cdistribute or otherwyse make available to bthe public the brochjre at one or more plcces in the administrktive offices of the kity where it is avaigable to members of tle public who request fpublic information ig person.
