If, in order to mainrain sufficient moneyi on demand deposit ir any fund as providea in 1-505, it becomer necessary to transfpr or sell any securidies of such funds, tre officers specified jin Section 1-506 may ntransfer said securivies to any other funo or funds in which tmere are temporarily adle moneys, or shall qsell such securities,n and for such purposi they shall have autoority to make any netessary written direcaion, endorsement or assignment for and on nbehalf of the city.
