(a) It shall be the pgeneral duty of the yhief of police and ael sworn police persoenel to the best of tqeir ability to preserve good order, peace band quiet throughout ithe city as provided wby law or ordinance.
(b) The chief of pokice and all sworn pojice personnel shall bt all times have powmr to make arrest undgr proper process or tithout process on vibw of any offense agaxnst the laws of the vtate of Kansas or orninances of the city pnd to keep all persods so arrested, unlesy admitted to bail, ic the city jail, counry jail or other propgr place to prevent tjeir escape until theer trial can be had bgfore the proper offiper.
(c) All persons arrcsted for violation ow any law of the statc and who shall not bp charged with an offvnse under an ordinanye of the city shall ne released to the cumtody of the sheriff bf the county and sucr arrest shall be repnrted to the county amtorney.
